When children walk into TRC Tractors‘s Feilding showroom, their eyes light up, says Deborah Meurk.
“They come in and can’t wait to look around, it’s very exciting,” says Deborah, one of the company’s owners.
To celebrate 75 years in business, TRC Tractors has launched a charity-focussed promotion: between July and March 2023, Heart Kids NZ will receive a portion of the profits from the sale of every Massey-Fergusson tractor. What’s more, buyers will go into the draw to win a Kids Polaris RZR 200 side-by-side vehicle.
As a family-run business, it’s important for TRC Tractors to support the community, Deborah says.
“We wanted to do something local, to celebrate that we have been local for 75 years.
“Once we sat down and talked to Heart Kids NZ about what they do, and learned that their funds go directly to help families and children in the area, it just felt like the right choice.”
They’ll also take a donation box, and tractors branded with their 75th anniversary and Heart Kids NZ logos, to agricultural field days and events, she says.
“Anything we do, we’re teaming up with Heart Kids NZ where possible.”
Manawatū and Palmerston North Heart Kids NZ support taituarā Alex Atkins says TRC Tractors’ contributions will make a meaningful difference.
“It means we’ll be able to support families with care parcels, grants for families enduring long hospital stays, family days bringing people together – and so much more.”
The funds also support her own role, which covers a large region and a number of families, Alex says.
“I feel incredibly humbled; it’s amazing that these people, who have never experienced our care, loved the idea about what we do and wanted to get behind us.”
