Last Tuesday saw 48 young heart adults in attendance for a virtual zoom meeting - they came from all around NZ as well as one member joining from the UK and at least two joining from Australia. Many of the Family Support Team from around the country joined the event too so it really was something special. Amy-Kate Woodham joined and did a brief presentation on the benefits of Mindfulness and then participants broke in to small groups and had discussions on a variety of topics. The time went too quickly, the chat typed alongside the meeting was funny, and heart-warming as people shared delight as they saw someone they hadn't seen since camp many years previous. Young Adult Family Support worker Diane Pope was able to share the support available for Hospital admissions and encourage the young adults to reach out to Heart Kids when a hospital admission is coming up, as many were unaware this support was available. So all in all a very successful evening for all our participants.
