THEY DID IT!

It was an incredible mission, but they've done it! Four Wellington businessmen, led by the indefatigable Colin Chapman, have just finished the world's highest marathon and raised $220,000 for Heart Kids.  Chapman, Colin Thomson and Russell Simpson crossed the finish fine together in 9hrs 17mins, and Paul may was 45 minutes behind.  They took 42 prayer flags with them, all with a special wish from a heart child.  Chapman says he became pretty emotional three kilometres from the finish line when he started thinking about heart kids, and his family.  "I may've shed a tear or three, but if gave me heaps of energy.  At that stage I was leading the group and they all commented how the pace had increased two fold. I didn't tell them I was balling!"

They came 69th out of 165.The Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon criss-crosses the high Sherpa trails of Khumbu valley and celebrates the historical ascent on Mt. Everest by the late Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary on 29th May 1953.  The team are now starting the long trek back to base camp.
