Family Support Workers Gather in Auckland

Heart Kids Family Support Workers from around the country gathered in Auckland for the National FSW Training Conference.  It was an incredibly rewarding and inspiring time for everyone involved, with presentations from among others, Dr Kirsten Finucane, Dr Tom Gentles and our founders Michelle Mann and Linda Davies. Jess Jamieson, a retired social worker spoke about supporting families through palliative care and we were given a tour of Ronald MacDonald House by Anne Kirkpatrick, who spoke of the challenges they face with limited space, especially in Auckland. There were a number of other presentations across the two days that proved incredibly valuable for all concerned.  Our CEO Rob Lutter spoke about where the organisation has come from, where it is now, and where it's heading. All the information will help FSW in their jobs supporting heart families. We would like to acknowledge the fantastic support from Pub Charity for helping make this event happen.
