The 2020 BDO Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge has moved from the end of November to mid-November this year. Cyclists from all over NZ will be heading to Taupo to take part. Every year thousands of people pull on their lycra, grease their chains and head to the stunning Taupo region, for one of New Zealand’s biggest sport participation events. For more than 40 years the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge has been thrilling cyclists from around the country and overseas. And for 17 of those years it has also been providing support to the 12 babies born every week with heart conditions. The BDO Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is one of Heart Kids major supporters.
You don’t have to have aspirations to ride in the Tour de France to compete in this cycle challenge, and you don’t even have to wear lycra! The BDO Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge on November 14th has a course to suit everyone of any ability, and includes both road and mountain bike options. There is even a race for the kids! The Kids Heart Ride is a fun 5km course, your child can join our team of heart children who love to take part.
Taupo is a stunning place to visit anytime of the year so why not make a family weekend of it and set yourselves a fitness and feel good challenge too!
If you can ride a bike, you can be part of the fun! Registrations opened on 1 July and there are multiple discounts available for teams and families. We will have a presence in the Expo Center and the Domain so please pop in and say hi. We’d love to see you there!
The day is guaranteed to be so much fun for everyone, and there’ll also be spot prizes for fundraisers! The BDO Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is an event not to be missed. So why not take on the challenge and be a Heart Kids hero!
